The Development-menu

General Information

The development menu offers some "expert" or tweak settings that are probably of little use to the average user. It is not shown in the program by default (and it's not translated even when it is shown), you must activate it by entering ##DEVMODE_TOGGLE## into the current document display, selecting that text and then using any TagIt!-function (like ctrl+a). You can hide it the same way.

Windowsize Display

In the caption of this element you will see your current AV.NET window size in pixels. If you click this option, AV.NET will go into screentrack mode, and display the size of the window in real time in the current document window. To disable this mode, click this menuoption again. (You will lose your current document.)

Set Precise Windowsize...

I just couldn't get any peace of mind if I didn't know that my AV.NET window was 1024 pixels wide and 600 pixels tall. You can use one set of numbers that follow the standard monitor resolution proportions, or a slightly distorted set of numbers that set the width of the window even wider than in the standard set. This is simply because I like to use AV.NET as very wide and not that tall.

Cue Dump...

This dumps various details about the currently active language pack. The Menudump is different from the other options in that it actually prints raw data of the menuitems hardcoded into the program. You should NOT use the menudumper for creating language packs, because the menudumper will print even items that will corrupt your language pack if you use them. The message dumper dumps all active messages in the current language pack. You can use the Message Viewer to read them. Finally, the extended dumper will print out translations of items on other windows than the main window of AV.NET. As with the message dumper, this is not a raw dump, but instead just a printout of the data found in your language pack.

Always Start in DevMode

This option will make the program start up with the Development menu visible.

Get Locale-formatted Message

This tool will print out the specified message cue number (0 - 11999) from the active language pack. See avlangpack.specifications and us-english.pack to get an idea of what the numbers mean. You can also use the Cue Dump function to see which numbers are active and present in your current language pack.
